Read to Someone

This week, we learned about the 3 ways to read to someone! Our readers have been so happy enjoying books with their classmates.

We discussed why we partner read. We decided that it helps us with fluency and comprehension...and it's fun!

Students were assigned different partners throughout the week. We practiced each way to read to someone and then reflected after each experience. We discussed things to work on and celebrations.

Something we need to work on is reading in a whisper voice. A celebration we had was that although sometimes we didn't think we would work well with a certain classmate, we actually had fun and learned that we had a lot in common with them!

Please enjoy these pictures and videos from our first week of "Read to Someone." In just four days, students have demonstrated remarkable growth in social and academic skills.
