Hello Families,
My name is Mrs. Burns! Welcome to our fantastic first grade class! I am excited to be your teacher and watch our class grow and soar as learners and friends.
I grew up in many different states, but spent most of my childhood in New Hampshire. I attended the University of Vermont, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education and Music. In 2016, I earned my Masters in Education through Southern New Hampshire University. This is my ninth year teaching at Thatcher Brook and I am thrilled to be here!
In 2016, I traveled to New Zealand for my masters program with Ms. Burbank and Mr. Emrich. We visited classrooms, specifically looking at digital learning. After our time visiting schools, my husband, Chris, joined us and we explored the North Island. It was so amazing and fun. 
In 2018, my biggest adventure began! Chris and I welcomed our son, Jackson, to the world. He came 6 weeks early and has kept us on our toes ever since! He is happy, snuggly, and a funny little guy who loves books and our dog, Luna. We spend a lot of time hiking, gardening, singing, and playing together.
I am excited to see what the year brings as we strengthen our classroom community and explore, discover, and grow together. Let's enjoy our many adventures in learning together!
