A Look Back...

WOW, what an amazing year. We have focused on being a team: playing together, learning together, and growing together all year. We have come to the realization that is hard to say "good bye" sometimes, however, we continuously talk about and try to focus on how special our year was and how exciting our futures are.

This class is filled with unique and incredible people who make our room feel special and important every day. Although I would love to keep them with me forever, they are ready to move to third grade. This is a thoughtful, adventurous, and very special class that I will miss spending every day with, but will love seeing in the halls and bumping into outside of school!

Let's look back to how much these remarkable people have grown - from first grade to almost third...
First grade math (Fall 2011)

Building a community (Spring 2011)

Step Up Day (Late Spring 2011)

Pumpkin Picking (Fall 2012)

Egypt Week (Winter 2013)

At our best - letting our true colors shine (Spring 2013)

Okay, on to Day #180!

THANK YOU

A HUMONGOUS "THANK YOU" to families! You have shown so much support and encouragement this year. From supplying snacks for our parties to chaperoning or working in our room, from helping your child with homework to assisting in designing and creating holiday gifts and cards for them to share; you have helped positively impact our year.

Thank you for asking me questions.
Thank you for letting me know when you needed something.
Thank you for being supportive of the classroom.
Thank you for working with me to help your child learn and grow.
Thank you for encouraging them.
Thank you for allowing them to teach you new things.
Thank you for asking and answering their questions.
Thank you for supporting them.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you for everything.

Our class appreciates all that you do! :)

See You Next Year!

We have been celebrating the wonderful teachers who help us every day! We created and gave them cards and shared heartfelt words regarding their time with us. They also had some parting words for us! Please ask your child about each adult, his/her special memory of the adult, and the teacher's plans for the future (where will she be next year?)
Mrs. Robinson and our class
 Mrs. Patterson and our class
 Mrs. MacLean and our class
We had a pizza party outside to celebrate Mrs. MacLean and Mrs. Patterson today!

Are We Having Too Much Fun?

Probably. Here are some bits from this month...

Ask your child about their fun experiences on the field trip to the Reservoir, playing in the bouncy obstacle course, and creating/signing thoughtful words in their "yearbooks."

Nonfiction Book Celebration

Authors reading their books

All set up for our celebration!

Sharing our books and writing reviews for each other!

A BIG thank you to all of the families and staff members who were able to come to our Nonfiction Book Celebration! This was a huge project and the authors were incredibly proud of their books. They continuously share that the best part was looking at their books and receiving positive feedback from all of you. :)

Spring Celebration and Wax Museum

Ask your child about their favorite part of Spring Celebration. Ask him/her what the "Wax Museum" is and what s/he learned!
