On to Third Grade!!!

Wow. What an incredible two years! We have learned and grown so much! You have become amazing friends, readers, scientists, mathematicians, authors, spellers, athletes, artists...the list goes on.

On the first day of first grade, I took a class photo. I asked you to make a silly face. They're kind of creative, but a little shy. I bet they'll be a fun group. I thought.
Now, as I look at our last silly class photo, I think, Wow, they are creative, comfortable, fun, silly and confident....and not shy at all.

After we met and took our first class photo, I studied it and tried to memorize your names and faces.
After we took our last class photo, I studied your faces and thought of how much you have all grown and what wonderful and beautiful people you have become. I thought about the friendships you've formed, the things that make you unique, conversations we've had, the sound of your voice, and the sound of your laugh. I looked at your picture and knew so many details about you - what you like, what you dislike, what excites you, what frustrates you, and what makes you laugh.

You're all so very special to me and I'm so glad we got to share these two years together! Keep growing and learning and remember to come back and visit!!!

Field Day, Field Trip!

We have had such a fun last week of school! Here are some photos from Field Day and the Montshire Museum! Both were such action-packed days, I couldn't get a photo of everyone (sorry!) I know everyone had a lot of fun in the hot, hot weather though!!

Thank you again to all of the chaperones and volunteers for both events! Neither would have been possible, let alone as fun, without you!! :)

Race To Read

Read and record 15 books? No problem - our class is full of readers! We were thrilled to sign two race cars and earn trophies for all of our reading!

Plant Investigations

We have been learning about plants! At Four Winds, Dana helped us dissect flowers. Then we had to see if we could reassemble their parts! We've learned about seeds traveling, root growth, the parts of a flower, and what a plant needs. Ask your scientist for all of the details about our plant explorations!
