Kind Kids' Club

Last week we made secret messages for each other! We wrote compliments and decorated special envelopes to hide our messages.

We also worked in teams to decorate BIG envelopes and write special messages to some staff members. We filled each note with compliments to brighten their day and included a smaller decorated envelope for them to write a note and spread the kindness to someone else! We loved delivering our messages and seeing each person's reaction.
Today, our mission was delivering secret bookmarks! We each decorated two bookmarks and then hid them in different books throughout the library. We wrote and drew things to make the reader smile. We were really excited about this mission because it was so secretive and sneaky!
Stay tuned to hear more about how the Kind Kids' Club is spreading kindness!

Kind Kids Club!

Did you hear the news? We were invited to join the Kind Kids Club! We'll be working on spreading kindness throughout our community with Mrs. Mandigo's class. We'll go on different "kindness missions" this month to bring joy to others!
We were so eager to begin our work with the Kind Kids Club! Some couldn't wait to begin and started making posters and other special things to show their passion for the cause.
"Kindness matters"
We filled out applications to join the Kind Kids Club. We answered two important questions and then did our best to show our kindness throughout the week.
The final application stage of our Kind Kids Club was a video interview. We had to share what we would contribute to the Kind Kids Club and why we wanted to join.

We'll be finding out who the members are tomorrow! ;) Then we'll begin planning our missions to spread kindness. Remember to ask your child about the club and how s/he could do kind things throughout his/her day!

If I Were a Quadrilateral...

This week we learned that shapes with four sides and four right angles are rectangles. We also learned that all four-sided shapes are called quadrilaterals.

After reading If I Were a Quadrilateral by Molly Blaisdell, we decided to create our own class book.

If you were a quadrilateral, what would you be?
