Have you ever been asked to try a food and thought, NO WAY! I won't like that! What food has made you feel like that?
When Dana visited this week, we talked about bravery. We talked about how it takes bravery to try new foods and how sometimes we might even like the food after trying it!
We read Green Eggs and Ham By: Dr. Seuss to encourage us to be brave. Then we accepted the challenge to make and eat our very own green eggs!
Everyone had an important role in preparing our meal. Here's the kale rippers! (The kale is from Moonlight Farm!)
Here's our egg crew. Look at that technique! (The eggs are from Scrabble Hill Farm!)
The cheese shredders were working hard and being super careful and safe! They were shredding our Cabot cheese with graters and cookie cutters (so creative and effective!)
Then it was time to cook the kale!
After it had sautéed a bit, we added the eggs and cheese! The room smelled incredible.
The green eggs were ready....
Some of us liked them immediately and some of us weren't quite sure...but we ALL were brave and tried them.
Would you try green eggs? Did your second grade chef like them? Would s/he try them again?
