If I Were a Quadrilateral...

This week we learned that shapes with four sides and four right angles are rectangles. We also learned that all four-sided shapes are called quadrilaterals.

After reading If I Were a Quadrilateral by Molly Blaisdell, we decided to create our own class book.

If you were a quadrilateral, what would you be?

GoNoodle Election

Have you heard the news? We've been on different campaign teams creating posters and "pop up" voting booths for the GoNoodle Champs we want as presidents! We read their platforms and decided which candidate we would support based on what they believed in. Then we got to work making posters, inviting voters to fill out their GoNoodle ballots, and learning about the voting process. Check out our candidates, some of our posters, and pictures of us on Election Day.

Ballot Boxes, ballots, and "I Voted!" stickers for our voters.
Campaign teams at work. We used bright colors and catchy slogans to convince voters to believe in our candidates!
Voting begins - we set up booths for confidentiality, took attendance in each room that voted, counted ballots as they were put in the ballot box, and gave out stickers.
We started counting the ballots today. Our class is counting four boxes of ballots, while Mrs. Mandigo's class is counting the other four. We worked in groups, agreed on systems to keep track, and counted and recounted ballots. We also had to decide as a team how to share our results using Seesaw. Each group had a different ballot box to count.
Then we added all of the ballot box results together. We predicted who might win based on the initial numbers. We looked for combinations we knew to figure out the total votes for each candidate. This is what we found out when adding our four ballot boxes.

We still need to add in the ballots from Mrs. Mandigo's class to our results, so we don't know what their results are yet. Tomorrow we will add all of the numbers together and announce the GoNoodle President.

Final thoughts and predictions from these two voters:
